Using conscious breath and movement to balance the nervous system.
Healing the body through conscious breath and movement.
Pausing the breath is the key to strength, energy and endurance. It may be applied to any exercise, art or practice. That crucial breath pause will unlock the nervous system, that system that sends impulses to the heart, lungs and muscles, allowing us the means to create a more efficient and healthy body.
Are you aware that more than 80 percent of your bodyfat is lost through exhalation. Combined with exercise, breathing patterns and oxygen efficiency account for most of your weight loss… or weight gain if you do not breathe properly.
Conscious breath combined with conscious movement constitutes conscious exercise, and consciousness is awareness, or mindfulness. Used properly this combination creates a state of entering the ‘zone,’ that effortless state of flow which is, in itself, a moving meditation.
Years ago, it was assumed that we had no control over our nervous system and the way it functions. Stress was outside our control. Fear and anxiety… outside of our control. The way we age was outside our control. Well, things have changed. Ancient wisdom about the breath has become a modern science, a means to control.
Breathing is an art, and repetition makes the master. But we all breathe, you say. Yes, it’s true but how many breathe correctly, slowly and from the belly, fully using the diaphragm. How many compromising health and longevity because of faulty breathing habits?
